if you follow through with this (which is just crazy), you're going to need a caffeine replacement and an anti-oxidant replacement if you want to stave off headaches (short-term) and cancer (long-term).
Of course, maybe some other parts of your body will be happy without coffee, but I just can never get over the headaches to do even a short detox.
Apparently green tea has all sorts of ways to be a better source of caffeine (or caffeine-like-drugs/effects is maybe a better way to put it) - especially if consumed in small amounts over the course of the day.

I have twice given up coffee each time for 8 months.
Starting Monday 5th January 2009, I am giving it up again.
I sometimes get the headaches / sometimes not. Depends totally on how much I have been consuming prior to giving up.
At most they (the headaches) last 2 days.
And it is so so so worth it to give up. You sleep better and deeper, which means you awake more refreshed AND you have more energy, plus coffee robs your body of hydration which is NOT good for your skin.
Coffee also a killer for cellulite.
There endeth my sermon, but Ezra, I'm with you.
mate? green tea? jolt cola?

Good or bad
I have given up coffee but started tea as a substitute. Earlier use to have headaches but overcome with that in a month.
